Into the Darkening Sky

Led to Sea is the solo project of Seattle-based violist Alex Guy. After five years of touring with musicians such as Mirah, Laura Veirs, and Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, Alex has recorded Into The Darkening Sky, a new album of beautiful orchestral and stripped-down songs for viola and voice. Quirky pop songs with unusual percussion and shifting tempos mix with epic orchestral instrumentals. She's joined on the record by some of Seattle's most talented musicians, including Jherek Bischoff (The Dead Science) on bass, Lori Goldston (Black Cat Orchestra, Nirvana) on cello, and Paris Hurley (Kultur Shock) on violin. Alex has also recorded as a violist and violinist on the albums of Xiu Xiu, the Pharmacy, and Parenthetical Girls.
