Jatun began recording their self titled cd in September 2005. The band has two members, Alan Grosvenor and Scott Worley. You may have heard a track from this album, it was actually the first track recorded for the album, titled Ion Crush, which was used in a Nike Snowboard promo video for the Zoom Tre shoe. The tracks Ghost and Grey and The Tempation of Joy were also used in various snowboard video's. Many bands nowadays are using laptops in electronic music, and in a majority of those bands, their music sounds manufactured and it is also obvious that their sound is not a natural sound. This is definitely not the case for the tracks on this cd. They also have a diverse range of sub-genre's on the album. You hear a touch of shoegaze, pop and some rock stylings throughout. The album cover is also entrancingly beautiful, you can see it below. This debut cd is amazingly well performed and written, they ensure that there is some uniqueness to each track. I am very excited to see what the future has for Jatun, and look forward to hearing their future material.
