2007, Tigerstyle
After returning home from destroying a huge chunk of the Union, Confederate, and Western Gold Rush states on their fall 2002 tour for their Tiger Style debut full length, On Top, Rye Coalition are releasing their new EP entitled Jersey Girls.
They began the year by releasing the critically acclaimed, Steve Albini produced On Top and par-taking on a steady diet of touring, wielding their battle axe of ROCK across the continent. To say that the new Rye Coalition EP Jersey Girls hits the listener like a bat out of hell is far too easy of a conclusion to reach, you know it's going to rock you so hard even before the cd player closes. Jersey Girls is dirty, it's wicked, it makes you feel like your speeding to that gritty motel 6 in your '67 Chevelle after a date at the boardwalk with that girl in the acid washed dazy dukes, who pulled you into the girls rest room by your collar for a smoke. Part of you wants to turn and run, and yet there is a burning desire deep inside you to be schooled, nay, to be housed by a force, by an experience, so amazing it causes with in you a transformation.
Jersey Girls is made of 7 bold, sleazy, blazing, rock songs; 4 which were unreleased up to this date; 2 ("ZZ Topless" and "Snow Job") which were originally released as a highly demanded, limited edition, 7" which went out of print basically days after its release; and "Stop Eating While I'm Smoking" which appears on On Top. All of the tracks are glossed over by the David Copperfield of the recording studio Steve Albini. The CD version of the EP is enhanced with the video for "Stop Eating…" as well. This animated video is worth the price of admission alone. Trust us. So this plate is full with a feast that will leave you eating till your insides rupture and your bathroom scale breaks.
