Jessica / Kokomo

“Jessica” is sort of a visit from the ghost of Christmas future, a touching torch song for a love lost to the sands of time. Oh, how the strings weep behind Adam’s somber warning and, man, when you hit that dramatic triplet fill at the end... well, it makes me sigh audibly every time I hear it. Now some folks might say that the character in the song bares a passing resemblance to a certain young chanteuse, but other than sharing the same name and occupation, I don’t see it or at least that’s what our legal counsel keeps telling us to say.
