Johnny Marr

Born John Martin Maher on 31 October 1963 to Irish immigrants in Ardwick Manchester. Johnny Marr is a guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer.

He is best known for being the founder member, songwriter and guitarist in eighties cult band The Smiths.

The Smiths released 4 studio albums between 1984 and 1987 when the band dissolved.

The Smith's major hits in the UK included 'Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now' and 'Sheila Take a Bow' which both reached #10 in the Official UK Singles Chart in 1984 and 1987 respectively. Other popular songs in the Smiths' back catalogue include 'This Charming Man', 'How Soon is Now' and 'There is Light that Never Goes Out'.
