VINYL FORMAT. Class Actress is an electro-pop trio made up of Elizabeth Harper, Scott Rosenthal, Mark Richardson and a collection of synth-heavy future hits. The group came together after singer/songwriter and drama major Harper (thus the name Class Actress) heard and preferred Richardson's remix of one of her tracks to her original. Rosenthal joined shortly after and they reside in Brooklyn, NY. Comparisons are drawn between their contemporaries MNDR, Neon Indian and Chairlift in terms of their production and musical circles, and Harper has been hailed as 'Brooklyn's very own Madonna' (New York Press). Their debut EP is Journal of Ardency, featuring a cover of Neon Indian's 'Terminally Chill.'
"New York is no stranger to disco-influenced electro-pop, but there's always room for another addition to the party. . . cool and collected vocal hooks from [Elizabeth] Harper's sultry croon floating atop a straightforward dance beat rife with shimmering synths and bouncing basslines." – XLR8R
"Any band that cites Madonna's first album as a major influence is gonna get a listen from me. . . their super 80s vibe made the scene feel like the climax of a John Hughes movie, aka awesome. At the end of their short set, I had hearts in my eyes." - BUST
