Take one fourth of the Flaming Lips' quirky pop, multiply it by the experimental side of the Elephant Six, and divide the whole thing by the vocal stylings of They Might Be Giants, the guitar genius of Brian May, and the live energy of the Polyphonic Spree, and you'll have Boston's Apollo Sunshine. Although they borrow from a wide pool of pop resources, this trio creates something that's ultimately their own.
