2004, Hush / Jealous Butcher
An early collection of ballads (long out of print) recently re-recorded. Like Cat Power's Covers record this CD is arrestingly intimate, perfectly spacious, and gorgeously recorded. Ben Barnett proves he is the Muhammed Ali of Indie-pop, equally capable of floating and stinging. Here for one whole album the listener finds him floating; his fretboard finesse and honest lyricism exposed with living-room candor. This is a quiet album that you will play loudly, over and over again. It features an 18 color page booklet and two new songs, 'Crossover Potential', and 'Canoe'.
