2009, De Wolfe Music Library
VINYL FORMAT. ...Unreleased Soundtracks From The De Wolfe Music Library As Featured In The Shaw Brothers Martial Arts Movies 1976-1984. In collaboration with Joel Martin, one half of Quiet Village, the de Wolfe Music Library are curating and compiling (with love) some rare slices of OST ephemera from their 100 year-old vaults. This is the second in the de Wolfe re-issue series, collecting unreleased music from the Shaw Brothers' Kung Fu movies. The Shaw Brothers movies are the acknowledged inspiration behind Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill series of martial arts movies (the director even used the infamous Shaw's 'SB' logo at the beginning of the movie!) The catalog of music libraries such as De Wolfe have proven a treasure trove of unearthed breaks and rare gems for fans of northern soul, psych rock, funk, Krautrock and easy listening. Collectors and compilers such as Jonny Trunk, the B-Music collective (Andy Votel, Cherrystones) and David Holmes have all unearthed rare funk, Kraut, psych-rock and soul gems from the soundtrack catalog of long-established Production Music companies. De Wolfe Music Library is the longest running, and most important film music resource library in the world.
