The buzz behind La Bala has been building since Tijoux's debut 1977 bubbled up from an underground sensation into mainstream recognition. La Bala features 11 new songs from Ana Tijoux, featuring collaborations with Academy Award winning musician Jorge Drexler, Chilean rap crew Solo Di Medina, and Cuban hip-hop group Los Aldeanos. The album was recorded in Tijoux's hometown of Santiago Child, and mixed and mastered in Detroit, Michigan.
