Le Coupe

Le Coupe's long-awaited debut album showcases the songwriting talents of Stacy Michelson and Josh Moore. The sound is clean, simplistic, and very stylish. Dance-y drum machine beats and basslines are the foundation for soft rhythm guitars, perfect lead guitar lines, and Stacy's cool, non-chalant vocals. Songs are highlighted by trumpet and keyboard.

From beginning to end, Le Coupe have created an album that is fun, moving, and very danceable! The cd begins with "It Will Never Work Out," which is reminiscent of early St. Etienne. "Plane," previously on their 7" single, appears on the album with a more upbeat, electronic feel. "Safe" is a jangly, more acoustic-sounding tune with gorgeous trumpet/vocal layering. Those who like bands such as Ivy, Club 8, St Etienne, Birdie, should check out this excellent release!
