Le Louping

This is the second album from a wonderful Dutch band known as the Furtips. Their first album was released on the Ajax label, and it is titled “Stand Back, Speak Normally.” We can’t really express in words how highly we recommend these two albums, but Popwatch magazine came close when they wrote “Camille Courbois and the rest of the band throw down some one-of-a-kind tunes, and the more they sound “thrown together,” with different instruments coming at you from all sides, the more amazing it becomes.”(PopWatch No.10, 1999). Or, as David Nichols wrote, “If Dutch pop group Furtips aren’t going to be the future of rock’n roll, you’d have to ask why any of us should bother going on with the show at all. They have such a vivid, garrulous approach to their music, their singing, their playing. Their lyrics are funny/strange, their production values esoteric, their melodies unique.”
