Leave Out The Sad Parts

The EP leads off with the fragile lyrics and swelling strings of 'Firefly' lifted off their 2005 debut album. Two songs are taken from their UK 7" including 'Sparrow,' a highlight of the band's current live set, picking the pace up a bit and lifting their usual cool restraint, while 'Between What He's Saying...,' the oldest song recorded dating back almost four years. Rounding out the album are two previously unreleased songs recorded during the same session as the other selections. Both 'Union Falls' and 'Lovers Trial' offer the swaying feel and lyrical genius we've come to crave from Amandine, while horns and strings add their touches of melancholy in just the right spots. Influenced and inspired by traditional American Folk music, and sometimes with an inclination towards Alt. Country / Americana, they still consistently retain a keen sense of self, with a strong natural writing ability. Their songs reflect a sense of rural space, a reflective ideology, while always played simply from the heart.
