2009, Barsuk Records
VINYL FORMAT. The third Nada Surf album, Let Go, is clearly their best work yet. Recorded in 2001, it was produced by Chris Fudurich, who shared mixing duties with Bryce Goggin, Death Cab's Chris Walla, Louie Lino, and Juan Garcia. Influenced by the bands they grew up with (The Soft Boys, The Modern Lovers, Big Star), as well as their like-minded peers (The Flaming Lips, Frank Black, Blonde Redhead), Nada Surf display an eagerness to tinker with stodgy rock formulas, and have made an amazing album which seamlessly blends graceful rock, acoustic nostalgia, maturated power-pop, a slightly darker side, and songs about fruit flies.
