2003, Rainbow Quartz
Sidonie seem like they dropped some really wicked acid around ‘67 and went into a deep hibernation, only to wake up now. Sounding something like what the Beatles would have become had George Harrison been the top dog, Sidonie mesmerize and hypnotize with their psychedelic landscape of peace and love. Centering much of their music around tabla and sitar, these guys are obsessed with everything trippy. Further evidence to their flower power fixation: the tongue-in-cheek cover of Madonna's "Beautiful Stranger." Cool.
