VINYL FORMAT. Live on I-5 is the first-ever live album from grunge giants Soundgarden, following their reunion that came after 13 years of being on hiatus. The tracks that make up Live on I-5 come from a 1996 tour and captures the band at the height of their recording and touring career. In addition to their hits ("Spoonman," "Rusty Cage," "Burden in My Hand" and "Black Hole Sun"), the album also includes two covers: The Beatles' "Helter Skelter" and The Stooges' anarchic proto-punk classic, "Search and Destroy."
During their 1996 West Coat tour, Soundgarden took recording engineer Adam Kasper with them, renting a 24-track channel mobile studio and recording on 2" tape. They had always intended to release a live record, but soon disbanded, and the tapes were left to gather dust until now.
