Lo Moda
LO MOdA Is a six piece band from Baltimore, Maryland consisting of viola (Raili Haimila), keyboards (Gillian Stewart Quinn), guitar (Christian Sturgis), bass (Antony West), drums (Scott Braid) and vocals (Peter Quinn). The band formed in early 2005. Their first record, "Gospel Store Front" was released in 2006 on Creative Capitalism. LO MOdA has been compared to the likes of John Cale, CAN, The Velvet Underground, The Fall, Jonathan Richman, Misson of Burma, The Isley Brothers, Joy Division and so on. LO MOdA is influenced by krautrock, punk rock, post punk rock, pre punk rock, cub, jazz, and soul music not to mention afro funk, tropicalia and french pop.
