2004, Drag City
Reissue of the classic Half Japanese LP, "Loud." "Loud and Horrible" also features the "Horrible" EP from 1981, as well as extremely rare B-sides and tracks. And most of these tracks appear on CD for the first time. It's hard to believe that these songs are 20 years old -- since they still rip through the speakers with an energy that will blow your socks off. But beneath the racket, there's a deeper, more expressive story. The lyrics are heartfelt, cathartic, and dryly humorous. This is the Band That Would Be King in their infancy. Enjoy.
