Louisville Is for Lovers Vol. 9

VINYL FORMAT. Louisville Is for Lovers is a tiny niche of pop culture. Its main focus is an annual compilation released around Valentine's Day with original, exclusive songs by Louisville bands. Once the music unfolds, it becomes clear that this collection is as timeless as they come.Louisville Is for Lovers is the brainchild of artist/designer/jack of trades John King in 2000. For eight years, these comps have featured the well-knowns - Papa M, My Morning Jacket, Tara Jane O'Neil, Wax Fang - and soon-to-be-well-knowns. Vol. 9 builds on King's grand tradition, featuring exclusive tracks by Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Whistle Peak, Teneia Sanders, The aforementioned Lucky Pineapple, The Mack and many many others. This year marks the rebirth for this storied compilation: Louisville-based label Karate Body Records LLC joined forces with King to release Vol. 9 in a limited edition 500 copies in custom-made package on red-and-white marble vinyl. Karate Body's mission statement to release quality vinyl recordings dovetailed easily with King's goals.
