VINYL FORMAT. The Submarines' third full-length, Love Notes/Letter Bombs is their follow up to 2008's Honeysuckle Weeks. Love Notes/Letter Bombs picks up where their last album left off, except this time John Dragonetti and Blake Hazard find themselves in a new house, fervidly exchanging love notes and letter bombs. The album title's inspiration came from the idea of a couple in a broken-down mansion, tying love notes around a brick and throwing it through a window. Though Love Notes/Letter Bombs is disarmingly easy to listen to, one can't help but notice the general theme of conflict running through the album, with the tension coming from the intertwining of John and Blake's personal and professional lives.
