The Debut release by Sweden's Love is All. 10 songs of heart and soul punk featuring the songs that got them a John Peel Session, single of the week in the NME, sandwiched between My Bloody Valentine and Josef K on the Rough Trade Shops Indiepop vol 1. A marvel of sound and volume produced by Woodie Taylor of Comet Gain. Described by Calvin Johnson in Rockpile as "a spiraling cacophony that drives one to the dance floor to pogo like a maniac." Sweden answers my call once again (Eh, it's probably a long story.) in the form of Love Is All, whose new album Nine Times That Same Song, makes quick work of everyone's favorite defeatist playground. The name of both artist and art should clue you in on what's being delivered here: Love Is All know you, and Nine Times That Same Song is you. All of those small confessions we daily find so hard to own up to -- starry-eyed gazing at an unknowing paramour, notes left in lockers and messages on machines, convincing friends that every little bit of neurotic sense is actually rational -- play out over the course of Nine Times with vigor. These are love songs that offer solace, not the typically overblown, under-formed, out-of-the-loop ballads that flood the airwaves and the average listener's tear ducts for being too far from real, too perfect, and that say all the right words (just like that apple of your eye never did). Decidedly lo-fi and quirky, Love Is All cut to the chase, and the ugly truth, wearing their imperfections on their sleeves. That's the delight in listening; the songs that populate Nine Times That Same Song feel sporadic and spur-of-the-moment, and despite the varying content, always passionate.

This is about as perfect as a low-fi power pop album can get... gritty sound, supercharged sexy female vocals, wild saxophone entering the mix... the energy level is intense even on the slower songs, and at just over 30 minutes running time the songs and album never outwear their welcome. Definitely a great album to get your day/night kicked into gear.

Nick Fletcher - Lakewood, CO, USA
On the first listen this album may sound like a mess - a disorganized and chaotic backdrop that occasionally swallows the sharp female vocals and leaves the listener disoriented. But take another listen. You'll find an unbridled creative energy that jumps off the disk and gets your foot tapping. Well worth the (cheap) price.

William Noah - Atlanta, GA, US
Infectious, frantic rythms. Seems like the perfect album for the beginning of spring. Songs gallivant and jaunt from lo-fi pop bliss to a distorted, chiding wall of sound. This album begs to be cranked to 11.

Perhaps the most compelling proof yet that Sweden is the new Canada. Raw post-punk meets early Psychedelic Furs meets The Go! Team... this record sounds like the first day of summer vacation.
