2006, Outside Music
Toronto’s Nassau make their auspicious Outside Music debut with Machines To Paradise, an album that stomps and swaggers, while allowing the melodies to shine and slither. Machines To Paradise is just as psychedelic as their debut, A Fire In The Ashes, although the band’s earlier sound has grown and become more concise and confident.
Sounding as good blaring from speakers as it does seeping into your brain through headphones, Machines To Paradise is a fantastic record born from the mind of Jon McCann, who gained attention as the drummer for bands including Tangiers, American Flag and Guided By Voices. In Nassau, he hands the drum duties to Brad Pallister and takes on guitar and vocal duties. Chris McCann joins him on guitar, while Al Kelso handles bass. (Outside Music)
