2009, Simian/Old Flame
The Brooklyn five-piece has been called "psychedelic," "progressive," "quirky" and "strange," but they consider themselves first and foremost a pop band. Their new EP, Mad Valentines, was recorded in LA with producer Jonathan Sadoff. An additional EP track was then recorded in Brooklyn and produced by Bryce Goggin (Pavement, The Apples in Stereo). Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears fuse glam, psych rock and theatrical '70s pop with science fiction narratives and elaborate children's stories. They are a flamboyant and maniacally-energetic bunch with a flair for the dramatic!

mike albionThis could be the album of the year. each album is getting better and better and i really can't understand why this band hasn't hit it big. Its just a matter of time until they start playing to large crowds in major venues.
