2006, Barsuk
Soundtracked by the songs of Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash, Rocky had an unconventional upbringing on a horse ranch in Texas before his mother moved the family to Seattle. There he spent his high school years discovering the underground punk/indie scene. Inspired by bands like Fugazi, he and his brother Cody (founding member of hardcore/art combo The Blood Brothers) formed a punk band called Waxwing. Over the course of three increasingly accomplished solo albums, Rocky has matured into a truly phenomenal talent. Makers is an amazing album of songs that seem to have been scratched into a boxcar wall by a worn out and lonesome ghost. Customer Reviews

Eric RominThis is one of my all-time favorite albums. After hearing "White Daisy Passing" on the Insound radio player I checked out more of Rocky's work and I was immediately hooked. Every song on this album is solid, but "White Daisy Passing" and "Streetlights" are my personal favorites.
I can honestly say that this album will never leave my rotation; you should buy it and add it to yours.
