The Snake The Cross The Crown is a five-piece fifth-wave band living in Santa Barbara, California. Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, the group, which features ex-members of Curbside Service, headed west to find inspiration, reinvent themselves, and get the hell out of Alabama. Once there, the band in its present incarnation was born. Their brand of melodic indie rock combines the upbeat sound of '80s-influenced rock-pop with today's hook-laden emo. Think No Knife meets the Promise Ring, with a tad of Hey Mercedes. Their debut, "Mander Salis," features a progressive and atmospheric layering of keyboards, guitars, and drums, canvassed in thoughtful lyrics of disillusionment, addiction, and beauty.
