2001, Magister Phillips
Don Lennon is one of the most
sincere and uncompromising singer/songwriters working today. His songs are
masterpieces of modern pop, as real as a Mike Leigh film and as agonizingly
satisfying to witness. Lennon's work has drawn comparisons to Jonathan
Richman, the Smiths,
the Cocktails, Talking Heads, Robert Frost, and the aforementioned Mike
Leigh. Lennon is a fan of all of these artists, and like them, his work
defines a generation who may not embrace him. In 1997, DL released his
brilliant debut Maniac. Followed by 2 years of consistent touring, and the
follow up, Don Lennon, DL has quickly become one of the most original new
songwriters. In anticipation of
his upcoming full length for Secretly Canadian, this, his debut album, is
being redistributed to the masses.
