Map The Music Fan, UKIn times of despair, we can allow ourselves to become destroyed, or we can make a conscious decision to soldier on. This documentary highlights the benefits in choosing the latter option. "Accidental film-maker" Samantha Hale decided to turn her very private journey into an adventure which embraced the public. Like-minded strangers (and friends) who thrive on the spirit and energy of live music, travelling from city to city to get their fix. What inspires this? Can music heal? The answers (and perhaps, a lot more questions...) can be found in this film, along with some great interviews and footage of artists such as Imogen Heap, Tori Amos, Zoe Keating, Cary Brothers, Kate Havnevik and so on. A must buy.

Raymond QuessyA blend of fans thoughts and discussions with artists. We are part of this roadtrip with her. Very touching moment. And a selection of incredible artists. Her taste for indie music make us discover new talents.

Andrew CloseOnly one word comes to mind when it comes to this documentary. Amazing. It went much deeper than I thought it would and was a very emotional and powerful journey for an hour long documentary. I immensely enjoyed it and I encourage anyone who has the opportunity to watch this. You won't be disappointed.

Steffi M.MAP THE MUSIC is a film from a music fan to music fans, not more - and certainly not less. It's a really nice documentary about music and how it affects people and their lives framed by the story of the director's coping with her father's death.
While I enjoyed watching the film, getting to know wonderful artists like Rachael Yamagata or Jim Bianco (who aren't big over here in Europe) and listening to people's stories I kind of missed seeing the live performances (at least bits of it with the original music) that people in the film are raving about. At some point it felt a bit like someone showed me the candy and then ate it himself...
It's still fun to watch.
