It's been fifteen years since Chris Lombardi founded Matador Records in his apartment... but this anthology is going to focus on the last five years. This compilation is a perfect portrait of one of America's premier independent label in its prime, before the drug and alcohol dependencies really kicked in. Disc one includes greatest hits from Cat Power, Interpol, Stephen Malkmus, Yo La Tengo, Bell and Sebastian, Mogwai, and many others. Disc two includes unreleased tracks and rarities from many of the same bands, Interpol, Yo La Tengo, The New Pornographers, Cornelius, Guided By Voices, A.C. Newman, and many others.
