2006, Abacus
The story of Planes Mistaken For Stars begins within the confines of a paltry Midwestern town in Illinois called Peoria. Only a mile away from big city living in Chicago, the town was culture starved and nothing like the Northern city by the lake. It was this very atmosphere that fueled the raw, somber and fervent songs that Planes Mistaken For Stars would ultimately become so well known for. Mercy is the band's debut for Abacus.

Customer Reviews

Craig LaBauveThis album has great hooks, the low end fills out with the introduction of Neil Keener, and the guitars both soar. I like the darker, looming but melodic new approach to their writing, and Gared O'Donnell does a great job of using different vocal dynamics to fill the void left by the departure of Matt Bellenger. Favorite songs Never Felt Prettier, Widow, and Crooked Mile.
