Originally recorded in 1968 and slated for release on Sire Records, Microminature Love languished unreleased, until unearthed and released in a very limited 2002 pressing by Destijl Records. Its creator, Michael Yonkers, is a legendary figure of Minneapolis music-lore who modified his own guitars and effects. However, Microminature Love is no mere curiosity. The songs on the record defy immediate categorization, but in them you'll hear shades of Pere Ubu, the howl of Iggy, the blunt primitivism of the Godz and the seeds of countless other underground heroes. Yonkers still resides in Minneapolis and has played shows with bands such as Wolf Eyes, Six Organs of Admittance, and Low. Proceeds from this album will benefit the Andy Kotowicz Family Foundation.
