Missy Dee & the Melody Crew cut this tremendous slice of disco rap in 1981, only hours after fellow Tap-mates the Fabulous 3 MCs went upside down and back again on 'Rub A Dub Dub.' Check the whistle on the instrumental flip for further proof. The original 12" is rare not only for its quantity pressed, but for the quality of the four teenage girl rappers -- nearly unparalleled at the time. While Missy Dee rocked many a block party, Lady T was the real standout, having come up as a member of Kurtis Blow's crew. Her later work as MC Tatiana can be heard on the classic Clockin ZZZZs 12" 'Mission To Rock.' Mastered from the original tapes, including all 8+ minutes of the vocal take, this reissue should take the Melody Crew from rap jesters to hip-hop princesses.
