Songwriter and studio wizard Jason Quever is the mastermind behind San Francisco's Papercuts. His hazy, psychedelic pop has sold tens of thousands of albums over the band's four releases, most recently with Fading Parade, their first since signing to Sub Pop. This album is where it all began. The lineup featured Matt Popeliuch and Luke Top, who diverged to lead LA bands Foreign Born and Fools Gold, respectively. This blue vinyl version of Mockingbird is its first realization as a record, mastered by JJ Golden to be enjoyed as the budding incarnation of Papercuts originally intended. It also includes unreleased tracks written in the same period: "Shy" and "The Lost Parade."
