Moral Crux

Moral Crux are punk band from Eastern Washington state (Moses Lake area), formed in 1983 by James Farris and Jeff Jenkins, the remaining original members. Jarred Brown plays guitar and Lee Lester drums.

They cite influences from classic bands like The Clash, Ramones, Generation X, Lou Reed, New York Dolls, The Damned, Wayne County and the Electric Chairs, Circle Jerks, and TSOL, among others. Most of their releases are available from Lookout! Records.


The following is an excerpt of a Moral Crux concert review from Flipside magazine:

"Politically charged, severely (almost criminally) underrated, I suspect they'd have a much more receptive audience touring with the likes of the Queers, but I enjoyed the set quite a bit. The lead singer's the visual centerpiece, jumping, creeping, swinging around. ... What I also noticed wasthe bassist was phenomenal, transforming a rather simple rhythm section into a fell webbing of sound that was fuller and more satisfying than ass-simple pop-punk."
