My Morning Jacket honed the material for its upcoming album, Evil Urges, during an extended stint in Colorado. Once the material was ready, MMJ hunkered down in Manhattan to record with co-producer Joe Chiccarelli. Like John Leckie, who produced the band's 2005 album, "Z," Chiccarelli proved a valuable sounding board.

Keyboardist Bo Koster describes the Colorado songwriting process as "a good caring, loving place. We'd cook meals together, watch movies together, play music together and go on hikes together." This vibe has soaked into every bit of Evil Urges.
