Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg's Humoresque is based on the 1947 film of the same name, which starred Joan Crawford and John Garfield and featured Isaac Stern on violin. Working from Franz Waxman's original score and arrangements, Salerno-Sonnenberg and conductor Andrew Litton run through all of the music from the film, including pieces from Bach, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Cole Porter.
