Nancy Sinatra, her self-titled new album, is a series of collaborations between the legendary Nancy Sinatra and artists including Morrissey, Bono and The Edge, Pete Yorn, Steve Van Zandt, Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth,) Jarvis Cocker (Pulp,) Jon Spencer (Blues Explosion), The Doves and Calexico which have resulted in this album of guitar-based contemporary pop songs. Nancy's stock in today's hipster world is at an all time high. Recent sightings include a sold-out show this past June as part of Morrissey's Meltdown Festival in the UK and Quentin Tarantino's use of Nancy's "Bang, Bang" as an integral part of Kill Bill. Morrissey is a long-time fan of Nancy's. Preceding the album release will be a commercial single, "Let Me Kiss You," which he wrote and contributed backing vocals to. Over her nearly 40-year music career, Nancy Sinatra has created the musical and style platform for future rebellious rock chicks ranging from Chrissie Hynde and Debbie Harry to Shirley Manson and Gwen Stefani.
