Initial listening was impressive using the Technics 1200 with OL Modified RegaRB300 arm and Supex 900super retipped cartridge however on swopping to the Garrard 401 with Stax UA 7cf arm and Garrott p88 with Fritz Geiger styli I found the record unplayable due to the surface noise.
My conclusion is that an eccessive amount of release agent had been used in the production of the record and this had been dislodged by the Supex shibata diamond causing the eccessive background noise with the P88 which was very disappointing as that is my preferred cartridge.
Anybody else had this problem or did I just get a one off lemon?
