The National Splits debut CD is the work of one Mike Downey, formerly of the bands WOLFIE and MATHLETE (whose debut CD "Lincolnwood Tech" was released on Blackbean). This is a masterwork of 15 new songs which represent a pastiche of influences like Tullycraft, The Eagles, Further, BMX Bandits, The Apples and others. It also fits in nicely with the current pop being put out by labels like Kindercore. Songs about girls, arcades, driving alone, and other teen things abound. Groovy 60s-ish full color art in jewel cases.
