2008, North Atlantic Sound
From the fantasy-novel look of their album cover to the ambitious length of the two tracks contained therein, everything about NEPTUNE WITH FIRE screams the 1970s. The product of improvisational jams that gradually took shape into songs, the music revels in the fuzzy, bottom-heavy low end of Blue Cheer and Black Sabbath, as well as more recent purveyors like the Melvins. The presence of an organ player in the band makes for limitless colors and textures that they explore like so many layers of interstellar clouds.
