Y34RZ3R0R3MIX3D (LP)
VINYL FORMAT. The remix companion to Nine Inch Nals' Year Zero features killer mixes by members of New Order, Ladytron, and Sam Fogarino of Interpol. Reznor says he tried to reach "out to heroes, friends and strangers," for the remixed album, encouraging them "to do anything and insert themselves as much as possible into the track."

| After year zero, I needed this album. While I loved the original album, (and normally not a fan of remixes) I felt that YZ lacked something. Perhaps more melody and harmony, but this album is a perfect counterpoint to it. Weirdly enough, the remixes tend to be more fulled out versions of the original electronic noisy tracks. There are some tracks I tend to skip over, such as the capitol g remix, but The Great Destroyer, The Warning, Another Version of the Truth, and especially The Good Soldier remix only found on the vinyl release, are mind blowing. Even if I do skip over a couple tracks here (Me I'm Not..) the others significantly make up for it, and is a MUST HAVE album. | |
