The sophomore record from Brookyn's Say Hi To Your Mom, Numbers & Mumbles is an indie-pop effort that is equal parts upbeat hooks and introspective melancholy. Like the band's debut, Discosadness, Numbers presents the listener with a clever cocktail of gurgling synthesizers, warm electric guitars, and minimalist drum beats. These are songs that speak to the festering nerds in all of us, that share a joke about inevitable human ruts and aren't afraid to wallow in the joy of spaceships, circus tricks, hipsters, tractor beams, secret decoder rings, kisses, bus trips, Sweden, family quotas, tee-ball, meter maids, futurism, moon bounces, and more.
