Ode to the Inverse of the Dude

First of all, this band has been around for 9 years, and they've not earned the credit they deserve, but that being said, for those of us that know 'em, this really is the most outstanding effort to date. With THS, it all about the songwriting. Yes, they have incredible musicianship, and that really comes across in their live show, "Ode" features some stellar performances musically, to greatly compliment the song writing skills of Josh Malerman, the band's guitar player and lead singer.
Like any great song writer, it's a pleasure to see the growth and sublte complexity of the songs on this album, compared to the last couple (which were equally as good in their own ways).
This, topped with Dave Newfeld's production creativity, the album shines, and almost give the band a brand new life, as a totally pop oriented, song-writing band. For those of you who have not heard any previous material, GOOD! Listen to this one over and over again as if it WAS their first, and then give your self the gift of hearing the other 8 years of prolific material. Newfeld really captured the band's quality performance level here, which seems to allow the musicians to really open up and lay down amazing parts.
"Ode" has it all, when it comes to the High STrung, and i champion myself as a long-time super fan. 1. Unique roduction from a unique producer. 2. Stellar musicality on this album which enhances and the third point, 3. as always, incredible song writing.
All in all, BUY IT! You won't be disappointed. Best of all, i got my copy on vinyl!
