When dealing with a harsh inevitability, you'll do pretty much anything to avoid thinking about it. Most importantly, in the face of that adversity, you keep busy and do what comes naturally. This is precisely what Nate Kinsella and the rest of Make Believe did when he got word that he'd be spending two months in a county jail in Oklahoma. The end result of their self-enforced distraction is Of Course, an album created and recorded entirely in under a month. Typically obsessive perfectionists, this record is unlike any of their previous releases. Of Course is an airtight, exuberant and visceral statement of a band hanging together in tough times, beautifully unrevised and unrefined.
