2011, Joyful Noise
VINYL FORMAT. After more than a decade in existence, 10 proper full-length albums, and on the heels of their instantly sold out Cassette Box Set, Joan of Arc has compiled their latest opus, Oh, Brother. Featuring a few members of indie-rock royalty (Zach Hill from Hella, Rob Lowe from Likins, and others), Oh Brother is the combination of four distinct albums recorded between 2004 and 2010, which were begun but never completed by Joan of Arc curator Tim Kinsella. Known for the elegiac density and free-associative quality of his lyrics, Kinsella has dispensed with words altogether on this album, choosing to break up and splice together various recording sessions in a baroque, tessellating dreamscape of noisy beauty. Oh Brother is a vinyl/digital-only release limited to 500 hand-numbered copies on a double LP. Each side contains just one track, and the songs run around 20 minutes each.
