Oh No! Oh My! (CD)
From the minds of songwriters Greg Barkley and Daniel Hoxmeier comes a catchy post-pop band that loves themselves a tasty melody. Both Greg and Daniel were home schooled through high school and, for lack of anything better to do, learned to play the guitar and any other useful instruments they could get their collective hands on.
In July of 2005, the band began work on a brand new collection of songs after a demo from the year prior was met with a strong response over the internet. Greg and Daniel moved in January 2006 from their Hometown in Austin, TX, to their temporary home in Nashville, TN, to go to an Audio Engineering school for 9 months. After school is finished on September 30th...who knows what the future holds for Oh No! Oh My!? There are rumors of a thing similiar to a tour in the works...so that the band may find its new home in the USA...where will they end up? New York? Chicago? Seattle? Portland? Or right back where they started...in Austin? No one knows...![]()

| The best pop band around. Easy, simple, catchy. A wide range of songs all done extremely well. | |

| Actually reminds me a lot of Neutral Milk Hotel and that is a great thing. Great album. | |

| I will admit that this album did not grab me at first, but upon further listening it has grown on me. Songs to give greatest praise to are: "jane is fat" and "farewell to all my friends" which both caught my ear as being very good. | |

| There is something very sublime and refreshing in a band that writes and sings with such basic structure. There's nothing complicated, fancy, or anything that would require a superlative. It's just good, clean, acoustic pop songs done in simple harmony and unison. A must have for the summer of 2006. | |

| Such a good album, really doesn't leave anything out for it to be a good album. Catchy tunes, very good vocals and the lyrics and song titles alone are sometimes funny as hell.
Good cd, on my top 10 list of 2006.

| I'm a rather harsh critic, I know, but for as much hype as this album (band) has accumulated...I'm left rather disappointed. The kitschy name is nothing to feel too ecstatic about since it seems everyone is working from a simple phrase these days, but the music all starts from a single source and then slowly boils into the same substance. The sole saving grace, I feel, is track ten: In the Backseat, which is damn lovely and mellow; the best of ingredients for a beautiful summer love song. Other than that, it's like anything else. | |

| This album gives off a happy vibe, it makes you feel good, and listening to the lyrics made me laugh quite a bit... in a good way. A PERFECT SUMMERTIME DRIVING ALBUM!! | |

| The songs I downloaded from this album had me going. I picked up the album a few weeks ago. Have listened aplenty... and in all honestly, I am quite bored with it. One of the lesser intriguing albums of the year. | |

| This is indie pop done pretty well.
I like that every song sounds a little different. Sure, acoustic guitars and keyboards aren't very innovative, but most of the riffs and hooks are catchy, and that is precisely was a listener wants in this type of music. Its missteps concern the childish and simply not too good lyrics. Also, two songs, both of which repetitively sing of flat out dumb things--"Reeks and Seeks" and "Women are Born in Love"-- fail to convey a charm, instead sounding quite horrible. Even still, worthy of repeated listens as there are a couple really great summer tunes included.

| As a general opinion, I think the whole indie pop thing is getting kinda old, but on occasion an album will kick my ass and show me that I was wrong. This is one of those albums. Every song is solid all around and catchy as hell! Not too under or over produced, in a sound all their own, as well as perfect music for Spring. Now I cant predict the future, but this is one fine release and I hope to hear great things to come from Oh No! Oh My!. This is a band to keep your eye on. | |

| This record is disgustingly simple, yet it doesn't get old and every track is excellent. A definite must-have for 2006. | |
