2012 (CD)
Feral sounds have been corralled and turned beasts of burden to the will of our trinity, the musical experimenters, Old Time Relijun. On 2012, recorded with Calvin Johnson at Dub Narcotic studio, bandmates Arrington de Dionyso, Aaron Hartman and Jamie Peterson continue the exploration of the subconscious iconography begun with Lost Light. The cacophony of 2012 extends down dimly lit paths and discovers jocular illumination in the darkest places of our psyche, and ultimately, a hand held catharsis. Some of the credit for the comfortable thunder/agony/delight of 2012 revolves on the recently joined percussionist Jamie Peterson, formerly of the Curtains, St.Andre, and Dada Swing. She has settled nicely into the throne formerly occupied by Bryce Panic, Phil Elverum and Rives Elliot (among others). Jamie blends splendidly with the double bass playing of Aaron Hartman to provide a seamless pedestal for the howl and guitar scratch bloom of Arrington de Dionyso. There is no remorse: 2012 is Old Time Relijun`s seventh collection of song making since 1996. They have toured the world and will continue to do so, incessantly.
