2003, Mint
The Corn Sisters are Neko Case, Carolyn Mark, a plank, a guitar and a snare drum, and in September of 2000 they finally released their debut album, a live recording captured at the intimate and atmospheric Hattie's Hat in Seattle WA. With both Neko and Carolyn's own separate careers spiraling upwards in different directions and geographic ports of call, we don't get to see the Corn Sisters together on stage too often, so we'll all have to get by with this warm, honest performance from two gifted women. "There is a lovely painting on the front cover" - Randy Iwata, Mint Records.
Equal parts Neko and Carolyn, melody and laughter, Hee-Haw and yee-haw, this is a raw, off-the-cuff gem, and a modern-day revival of the good, old-timey hootenanny.
