Our Point of Departure

4th record fuses elements of jazz improv, dub & electronic soundscapes, relying heavily on the synthesis of the collected influences of this diverse & inspiring combination of people. Original tracks for the session were initiated by Doug Scharin (REX, JUNE OF 44, DIRECTIONS, LOFTUS, OUT IN WORSHIP) & Fred Erskine (JUNE OF 44, BOOM) & fleshed out by Carlo Cennamo (sax, keys-BOOM, SORTS), Jon Theodore (perc, keys-GOLDEN, ROYAL TRUX) & Sean Meadows (JUNE OF 44, THE LETTER E, DIRECTIONS, LOFTUS, OUT IN WORSHIP). Doug then combed through the hours of tape & extended the forms of each piece. The result seamlessly combines the live sound & communication of an improv recording w/something electronic & entirely new. Powerful instrumentals evoking the conflict between architect & alchemist.
