OUT OF YOUR MIND is the much anticipated second full legnth CD/LP by Olympia's Dub Narcotic Sound System, recorded at the Dub Narcotic Studio. If you saw them live last year and survived, you know the new sound of D.N.S.S., it's loud, propulsive and disturbed. The 1996 release of Boot Party was a pastiche of styles and players; for Out of Your Mind, the Dub Narcotic Sound System has been stripped raw, with Calvin Johnson (melodica, voice), Larry Butler (drums), Brian Weber (guitar, keyboards) carrying on, augmented by Chris Sutton (bass) and special guest vocalist Miranda July on the title song. The styles of playing are still diverse: bleeding ear rockin' to blurbeat dub, all played edge-wise. Out of Your Mind gonna scare the hell out of the kids. It's a graveyard smash.
