Owen (CD)
Owen is Mike Kinsella. For nearly ten years now, Mike has been in some of
Chicago's most loved bands, AMERICAN FOOTBALL, CAP'N JAZZ, JOAN OF ARC, and OWLS. Of those, he has probably been most closely associated with AMERICAN FOOTBALL, in which he did much of the songwriting and guitar-playing, and all of the singing. With Owen, Mike takes American Football's sound to its next logical level. Mike wrote and performed this entire record by himself: guitars, drums, bass, vocals, everything. It's got all of the hooks and charm that has turned American Football's only album into Polyvinyl's best-selling catalog item! And make no assumptions about this being a one-off solo record with no touring behind it -- Mike has been winning over hundreds of kids nightly while opening up for Rainer Maria on nearly every date of their last three national tours!

| This album is absolutely amazing. From the moment I placed this in my CD player, I could feel calmness and peace fill my soul as his soft notes and voice filled my room . This album contains some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. If you're looking for a mellow/emotional sound, then you MUST definitely check out this album. The guitar work is intricate, the vocals are soft, and the lyrics are clever and sincere. This album is amazingly beautiful and anyone who actually knows what music is, and can be, will appreciate it's melody and honest, heart-felt beauty. | |
